When parenting I would say honesty is always important; however an imagination and a tall tale never hurts every now and then. When my girls were around 3 & 4 years old, they asked me “what is eggnog?” Being imaginative by nature and a bit of a storyteller I whipped up the quickest creative answer I could think of. I said “Egg nog comes from Christmas cows. Santa milks Jersey cows in the North Pole. He feeds them candy canes and sugar cookies. They each have jingle bells around their necks and big red bows on their tails.” That is why I dedicated my children’s book to my beautiful daughters as they have always been my inspiration.
